Cost:
£15,000,000

The Development

The Old Candle Factory, a brownfield site occupying a strip of the Battersea waterfront which has been in industrial use since the 19th century, has been redeveloped to provide 118 riverside and inland apartments.

The Building

Apartments are arranged around a landscaped courtyard. Riverside apartments, eleven of them penthouse flats, face Chelsea and Fulham. Naturally ventilated underground garage parking has been provided with one space per flat.

The River

Lighting of the river walkway, like the rest of the walkway design, was chosen with Wandsworth local authority planning requirements in mind. Surface water drainage flows into the Thames to reduce the load on the trunk sewer system.

The Design

The design was fully detailed at any early stage to produce a set of dimensioned instructions for a kit-of-parts, which could be handed to the builders and used like the instructions for an ‘Airfix’ kit.

Services

Services provided by the Landlord include lifts from the secure parking area to the 6th floor, audio door entry system with individual handsets and door release buttons to open the ground floor entrance door, electronic gated main entrance, cold water storage tanks and booster sets, underground drainage including interceptors for car parking areas, external lighting around the development and surrounding areas.
